P-Pop is unstoppable, and with the Philippines as a music-loving country, there is no shortage of talented performers from all of its corners.HARA, a rising P-Pop girl group from Davao, is all good and ready to take the stage and showcase its talents and brand of music to fans and followers all over the world. The six-member girl group—composed of Blythz, Ai, Ckhy, Tashi, Lory, and Yani—recently flew to Manila for a show and to do some yet-to-be-revealed projects. This move signals the start of their journey to amplify what HARA can offer to the music scene.“Everything is coming together,” Blythz commented brightly.HARA recently secured a recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment, joining the label’s growing roster of P-Pop acts that includes SB19, KAIA, YARA. Marking their first team-up with the global music company, HARA released the pop track “My Love” as their pre-debut single. Buoyed by subtle piano chords and sophisticated grooves, “My Love” transports the listeners into clubland fantasia, where suave, confident vocals and magnetic dance-pop production create a mesmerizing sonic experience. “We released our pre-debut song last February, and now we&#x27;re receiving lots of love. It&#x27;s really overwhelming in a good way and nakaka-motivate. We want to inspire younger generations, and we want to stick to that branding as much as we can because it resonates with us. The six of us—we&#x27;re very strongly opinionated, and we&#x27;re very strong-willed din po, and this music [suits] us,” she explained.The group shared that “My Love” was written as a nod to girlhood: a transitory but important phase in life where women experience loving deeply, feeling things intensely, and sometimes giving one’s heart to people who don’t deserve even a fraction of it. “The song talks about heartbreak but also about realizing your worth. It’s about women learning that not everyone is worthy of their love and that it’s okay to walk away. At the same time, we also wanted to show that women aren’t just victims of heartbreak: we’re strong, we make choices, and sometimes we’re the ones who choose ourselves first. According to Lory, the group was formed through auditions in Davao, and while the other members were scouted, everyone was required to go through the audition process and the two-year training.The origin of their group name, HARA, was also interesting. It is derived from a pre-colonial term that means “beauty” and “strength.”“Hara came from the word ‘rajah’ po, and ang meaning niya po is regal and royalty, which suits our branding of being elegant. Our fandom name is Royals because we want them to feel included [in this journey],” Tashi thoughtfully added.While HARA stands for empowerment, each member of the group has their own personality and preferences that, thankfully, make the group much more exciting and colorful.<div> </div><div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="925" height="525" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/M9sutf3bnjk?si=QiaLEeFFrJFjNWgR" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe> </div><div> </div>Lory: “Introverted po ako and my type of music is more on ballads and OPM.”Blythz: “Opposite po ako kay Ate Lory. I&#x27;m very extroverted. Mostly, ayoko pong mag-focus lang sa isang bagay. Gusto ko pong may pinagsasabay po ako, and gusto ko po ng maraming experiences. Sa music, mas gusto ko po ‘yung mga dance tunes like hip-hop and also femme.”Tashi: “Introvert ako pero maingay po ako sa mga ka-close ko. I personally love OPM and like, love songs and even ‘geng-geng’ (Pinoy hip-hop) pa ‘yan.”Yani: “I love exploring different things and new experiences. I&#x27;m really into K-pop and P-pop songs.”Ai: “Same with them, I try new things if I can. When it comes to music, nag-e-explore ako. I love Japanese songs, R&amp;B, K-pop, P-pop, J-pop—any type of music as long as gusto ko ‘yung tunog and message.”Ckhy: “Extrovert po ako pero ‘yung pagka-extrovert ko po is sobrang tagal ma-low-batt. Sa music taste, I really love R&amp;B. There are also a lot of ways to inspire, and we want our songs to be inspiring but not confined to pop. Madami naman pong mga artists and they&#x27;re all great. I think that we want to inspire more young women to pursue their dreams po.
