Based on the 1960 tokusatsu film <em>The Human Vapor</em> by <strong>Ishirō Honda</strong> and <strong>Takeshi Kimura</strong>, the series is written by <strong>Yeon Sang-ho</strong> (<em>Train to Busan</em>, <em>Peninsula</em>, <em>Colony</em>) and<strong> Ryu Yong-jae</strong>, and directed by <strong>Shinzo Katayama</strong>. It stars <strong>Shun Oguri</strong>, <strong>Yū Aoi</strong>, <strong>Suzu Hirose</strong>,<strong> Yutaka Takenouchi</strong>, and <strong>UTA</strong>.</p><p>The rookie in this roster of established Japanese actors, <strong>Uta Uchida</strong> only made his acting debut via this newly released eight-episode series, which he said was three years in the making. It did not take three minutes, though, for us to notice UTA, looking sharp in his blue coat, and be captivated by his onscreen presence.</p><p>In <em>Human Vapor</em>, after a professor is killed in a grotesque display on live television, a detective (Shun Oguri) and a reporter (Yū Aoi) are assigned to investigate, leading them to discover a sinister organization called the &quot;White Center,&quot; which has ties to a meteorite crash from 1999. UTA&#x27;s <strong>Ren Tsutsumida</strong> is a former cleanup crew member who was left for dead and has now returned to seek revenge against those who exploited the vulnerable, now as a mysterious suited man who can transform from physical to gaseous form at will.<em></em></p><p>Excited about this new milestone, UTA shared on Instagram, &quot;Truly blessed and honored to be a part of such a scale of a show and feel all the pressures and pure joy of filming in Katayama Shinzo &amp; Yeong Sang-ho crew. He started a career in modeling before venturing into acting. As a professional model-actor, he is represented by agencies like Crossover Inc. (which had just welcomed <em>One Piece </em>star Mackenyu into its roster), Success Models + Success Talents, and GOST agency. </p><p>In 2022, he appeared on Google Pixel presents <strong><em>ANOTHER SKY</em></strong>,<strong></strong> a popular and long-running Japanese travel and talk show produced by Nippon Television (NTV). But it wasn&#x27;t until 2026&#x27;s <em>Human Vapor </em>that he added acting to his dossier. <em></em></p><p>And in time for his acting debut in the said series, UTA launched &quot;<strong>UTA Universe</strong>,&quot; his official fan club, last May.
