Everyone has a platform. What makes one stand out? Authenticity? Creativity? Hilarity? In the case of 25-year-old<strong> Francis Calma Juntado</strong>, it&#x27;s an entertaining mix of the three.  </p><p>Francis, who hails from Bicol, started as a content creator in 2017, churning out skits and POV types of posts. This was back in April when our social media feeds were overflowing with content from the famous music and arts festival in California. </p><p>There was all sorts of content at the time—from those showing off their OOTDs to those sharing how they set up their tents at the festival to the artists’ performances. Yet, in the Philippines at least, Francis’ take on the trend and how he rode that wave stood out. For one, he wasn&#x27;t at the actual festival; he was at home in his father&#x27;s room (where he usually films his content because it&#x27;s where the lighting is good), humorously pretending he was getting ready for the event. It might not make sense when you read all these pieces put together, but when you see the final output, you&#x27;d understand why many found his content funny and entertaining. With content delivered with witty and very funny commentary, you have one of the most hilarious content creators on social media today. </p><p>His first Coachella post earned likes and comments from celebrities like Camille Prats, Katarina Rodriguez, EJ Nacion, Yassi Pressman, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Dani Barretto, Geneva Cruz, Jed Madela, Candy Pangilinan, and Eula Valdes. &quot;<em>Nagulat po ako nung </em>first ever<em> kong nag</em>-upload <em>ng basura</em> content, useless content, <em>parang wala lang po talaga akong magawa. He even put together a performance-ready outfit, imagining himself as a member of global girl group <strong>Katseye</strong>. Whatever is trending in pop culture or entertainment, best believe he has an entry to ride that wave. </p><p>His resourcefulness and creativity shine through his choices of materials: cardboard, charcoal, packaging tape, sack, wires, ropes, tissue paper, plastic, curtain, hose, net, foil, parcel packaging, plastic typically used for ice candy, plastic spoons, <em>banig</em>, cotton, cotton buds, newspaper<em></em><em></em>—the list goes on. And mind you, in Francis&#x27; world, these materials are funnily elevated as luxury, limited-edition, and bespoke items, joking that they&#x27;re from brands like Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Dior, and Hermès, among others. </p><p>In raw, unfiltered moments, his natural gift for designing and styling is like a breath of fresh air in the curated world of social media. He was like many of us as children, playing dress-up using things like <em>kumot</em> <em></em>(blanket) <em></em>and <em>kulambo</em> (mosquito net). Even <em>basura</em>, <em>kaya mong magawan ng </em>fashion <em>e</em>. <em>Kasi ang tingin natin sa basura</em>,<em></em> <em>basura lang</em>. <em>Tapon na talaga</em>. Useless <em>na</em>. <em>Pero ang dami mo po talagang magiging</em> idea <em>na kapag basura</em>, <em>puwede mo po talaga magawan at magawan ng paraan,</em>&quot; he said. </p><p>Francis considers the creative work he does with scrap and trash as training for when he can finally create functional outfits. &quot;<em>Gusto ko matutunan kung paano mag</em>-cuts, <em>kung paano gumawa ng</em> gowns... <em>Kasi ang nasa isip ko ngayon</em> is <em>hindi po talaga &#x27;yung</em> basic gown <em>&#x27;yung ginagawa</em>. <em>Parang gusto ko &#x27;yung mga </em>unique <em>na gusto kong sinusuot</em> for events <em>talaga</em>,&quot; Francis told us. <em></em></p><p>By doing what he loves and staying authentic while at it, Francis hopes to inspire today&#x27;s youth to be resourceful and boundless in their creativity. As the old saying goes, if there&#x27;s a will, there&#x27;s a way. And in Francis&#x27; case, the willpower is strong. His relentless drive proves that anything is possible, and that there is no limit to where your imagination can take you.
