Agot Isidro on What Helps Her Look and Feel Young at 60

Seasoned actress Agot Isidro is booked and busy. Her Netflix dramedy film Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon was recently released. Her Cinemalaya film Mag-iina recently hit the big screen and even won Best Film. Her horror mystery series, Balaraw: Blood Island, is also set to premiere on Netflix this September. Her schedule may be hectic, but she&#x27;s glowing with happiness. We asked her, “What&#x27;s your secret to aging gracefully?” “Wala lang. Siguro work lang nang work,” Agot said casually. “O ’yung siguro, ano ba?! Intention, purpose? And when she&#x27;s not busy with work, Agot makes sure to spend quality time with herself, realigning her core by doing the other things she enjoys. When she isn&#x27;t on the set, you&#x27;ll most likely find her on her farm with her dogs—all eight of them! “’Pag talagang wala akong ginagawa ng mga three or four days, talagang nagde-destress ako sa farm. So nagpla-planting ako, kung anu-anong ginagawa ko du&#x27;n,” she told Metro.Style. Agot stars in Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon, a dramedy film that focuses on family dynamics and the relationship between an estranged mother and daughter. She plays Paz, the mother of Jo or Joanne (Jodi Sta. That matters.” What also matters to Agot is to keep working and dedicating her time, talent, and effort to projects like Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon, which she thought were brave in their storytelling. “Actually, ngayon, mas nag-e-enjoy akong gumawa nang gumawa ng trabaho. Gustong-gusto ko ’yung nagtatrabaho ako,” Agot shared. “Kasi especially now, I think the narratives or the stories are mas brave. ’Yung mga before na hindi tina-touch o parang hindi masyadong sinasabi nila na formula or masyadong kumikita, ginagawa. So dapat, present ka du’n sa gano&#x27;n, parang meron silang mga gustong patunayan. Among those things is lack of communication, evident in how Agot&#x27;s and Jodi&#x27;s characters let unsaid feelings pull them apart. “I was the one who reopened the wounds of the family,” Agot said of her character, Paz. “And then from there, ’yung beautiful chaos na sinasabi natin. She explained, “Ano siya e, kahit ano&#x27;ng mangyari, andu’n lang siya. There&#x27;s one person na parang andu’n lang, and witness siya sa lahat ng nangyayari. But actively present in everyone&#x27;s life. Constant siya.” At the end of the day, whether it&#x27;s for yourself or others, being present physically and emotionally matters a lot. It gives one some much-deserved peace. Peace is one of the most important things in life.
