Ji-Tae is also known for starring in K-dramas like “Healer,” “Mad Dog,” and “When My Love Blooms.” His wife is actress Kim Hyo-jin, and they have two kids.
Park Hae-Soo as Berlin - After starring in the phenomenal hit show “Squid Game” (2021), Park Hae-Soo catapulted to stardom side by side with his co-stars. Cast in a major role, he managed to become a hot commodity in Hollywood and was being tailed by talent agencies in the global arena. He is also celebrated for his character in “Prison Playbook” (2017). In the South Korean adaptation of “La Casa de Papel,” Hae-Soo paints the persona of the sorrow-struck Berlin, who is said to have served in a North Korean concentration camp for an extensive period prior to his escape.
Kim Yun-Jin as Inspector Seon Woo-Jin - As an Asian-American stage and screen actress, Kim Yun-Jin is a multi-act celebrity who has made it to tinseltown. Through her television series “Lost” (2004) where she stepped into the role of a North Korean spy, her marketability in the international circuit has been inflated. She also starred in the American series “Mistresses” (2013), where she has concretized a main character. In “Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area,” Yun-Jin plays the counterpart of Raquel Murillo, Seon Woo-Jin, the police inspector from the task force team who dismantled the disguised identity of the Professor.
Jeon Jong-Seo as Tokyo - Also known as Rachel Jun, Jeon Jong-Seo is a phenomenal actress whose popularity is propelled by her performances in famed psychological film “Burning” (2018) and time-bending thriller “The Call” (2020). Jong-Seo plays the part of Tokyo, an ordinary 20-year-old girl who gambled her life to live the Korean dream. Her ambition drove her to South Korea, where she has come in contact with the Professor. Convinced by his principles and convictions, she follows him incessantly and falls victim to the promise of a life vested with prestige and luxury. “Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area” marks her first-ever series.
Kim Ji-Hoon as Denver - Kim Ji-hoon’s acting career revolved around romantic comedies. His string of rom-com series include “The Golden Age of Daughters-In-Law” (2007), “Matchmaker’s Lover” (2008), “Wish Upon a Star” (2010), and “My Cute Guys” (2012). Prior to “Money Heist,” he starred in the series “Flower of Evil.” In his latest K-drama, Ji-Hoon represents the ill-tempered Denver, who is the son of Moscow (an ex-convict who’s also part of the heist). Given his quarrelsome nature, he is quick to get into fist fights. Despite his rowdy demeanor, however, he has a sympathetic heart.
Lee Hyun-Woo as Rio - Lee Hyun-Woo’s career took off as a child actor at a young age of nine. His name surfaced after starring in the blockbusters “Secretly, Greatly” (2013) and “The Con Artists” (2014). On the small screen, he starred in series like “To the Beautiful You,” “Moorim School: Saga of the Brave,” and “The Liar and His Lover.” Taking on the role of Rio, who is a topnotch hacker genius, he harnesses his talent to aid in the theft and cement a romantic connection with Tokyo.
Jang Yoon-Ju as Nairobi - Model-turned-actress Jang Yoon-Ju managed to tread the acting realm by hosting and heading the reality model search series, “Korea’s Next Top Model” (2010). The modeling competition enabled her to appeal to a larger audience, so she eventually debuted on her first detective movie, “Veteran” (2015). Manning the forgery department, Nairobi, a con artist, is delivered by Yoon-Ju. Her colorful character is marked by fastidiousness and a mercurial mood.
Kim Sung-Oh as Captain Moo-Hyuk - Sprouting from productions on stage, Kim Sung-Oh started a career shift after auditioning for the big-name broadcasting network Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS). His first brush with fame happened following his hit characterization of an eccentric character in “Secret Garden” (2010). He’s also known for the film “The Man From Nowhere,” and is a staple in K-dramas with shows like “Fight for My Way,” “Graceful Friends,” and “L.U.C.A.: The Beginning.” In “Money heist,” Sung-Oh embodies Captain Moo-Hyuk, a stern North Korean state security officer who spearheads the hostage situation on the half part of the Korean peninsula.
Lee Joo-Bin as Mi-Sun - Actress and model Lee Joo-Bin actualizes her career when she first crossed into the limelight by landing the period romance series “Mr. Sunshine” (2018). Her role catapulted her to other content on television such as the teleseries “Trap” (2019), “The Tale of Nokdu” (2019), “Find Me In Your Memory” (2020), and “She Would Never Know” (2021). Joo-Bin personifies the Korean parallel of Monica Gaztambide, Yun Mi-Sun, who is having a secret affair with her superior Cho Young-Min (Park Myung-hoon).
Park Myung-Hoon as Cho Young-Min - Starting out as a stage talent in the 90s, Park Myung-Hoon is a well-received, world-renowned South Korean actor. His pivotal portrayal of the mind-bending, mental role in the Academy Award for Best Picture recipient “Parasite” (2019) slingshotted him to international skies, allowing him to attract awards namely Best New Actor and Best Ensemble. He was a cast member in K-drama “Crash Landing on You,” and is also currently part of the series “Eve.” With a noteworthy background, he was cast as Cho Young-Min, Arturo Roman’s equally blasphemous equivalent. He is the self-serving chief of Unified Korea Mint (UKM).
Lee Won-Jong as Moscow - With his regular and recurring appearances in K-contents, Lee Won-Jong has always been a familiar face. A seasoned and award-winning actor, he has bagged four boast-worthy awards throughout his acting track including one Best Actor, two Best Supporting Actor, and one Excellence Award. An industry gem, Won-Jong stars as the gang’s father figure, Moscow, in the much-awaited masterpiece. Moscow’s son, Denver, is also part of the heist.
Kim Ji-Hun as Helsinki and Lee Kyu-Ho as Oslo - In 2012, Kim Ji-Hun’s career rose through his character in the romantic comedy “Love Fiction.” He also recently appeared in “The Good Detective” (2020). With a big-boned physique, Ji-hun is the perfect talent for a timeless thug that is Helsinki. | Lee Kyu-Ho debuted as an actor through the series “Beautiful Days” (2001). After his hiatus from acting, he furthered his career by channeling his skills into TV series. His latest role in “Bulgasal: Immortal Souls” (2021) was lauded by many as he made it memorable by depicting one of the demons. Kyu-ho now draws the character of Oslo, Helsinki’s comrade, who is in charge of crowd control. | These two characters are ethnic Koreans and former members of a Chinese gang.
