Ronnie Alonte Gears Up For More Challenging Roles

From being a dancer, Ronnie Alonte now embraces the craft of acting and is eager to take on new roles to broaden his horizons

<p>        Actor <strong>Ronnie Alonte—</strong>who’s also a model, singer and dancer—has grown into quite the leading man. You can put him in a romantic role and fall in love with him, but he’s also a capable action star who can put on the thrills with chase and fight scenes. It almost escapes your mind that back in 2015, he was once a member of the dance group <strong>Hashtags</strong> on the noontime show <strong><em>It’s Showtime</em></strong>. He made several appearances on TV such as <em><strong>Maalaala Mo Kaya</strong></em> and even on commercially successful projects like <em><strong>Vince and Kath and James</strong></em>, Erik Matti’s <em><strong>Seklusyon</strong></em>, <em><strong>A Love to Last</strong></em>, and <em><strong>Bloody Crayons</strong></em>. </p><div><br/></div><p>He recently concluded the primetime series <em><strong>Love In 40 Days</strong></em> opposite his reel- and real-life partner Loisa Andalio (whom he also co-starred with in <em>the series </em><em><strong>Unloving U</strong></em> and <em><strong>The Goodbye Girl</strong></em>).“<em>May mga</em> rejection<em> ako</em> before <em>kong pasukin itong</em> Star Magic. <em>Ilang beses na rin</em>. Okay <em>lang naman iyon ’di ba</em>?... <em>Kung meron man sigurong</em> rejection <em>na mangyayari sa akin eh handa naman ako doon.</em><em> Kaya ko namang tanggapin at kaya kong i</em>-handle,” Ronnie opens up.</p><div><br/></div><p>Ronnie is ready to handle anything that comes his way especially since he is confident of the family he has in the entertainment business: Star Magic.“<em>Malayo kami</em> physically <em>sa totoong</em> family <em>namin</em>, so <em>naging</em> family <em>talaga namin ’yung</em> Star Magic. <em>Sila ’yung pinupuntahan namin kapag may problema</em>. <em>Para namin silang mga nanay at tatay lalo na si</em> LMD [Lauren Dyogi],” he says. </p><div><br/></div><div>    </div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img loading="lazy" src="https://assets-metrostyle.abs-cbn.com/prod/metrostyle/attachments/b378d141-704b-4c30-bef6-185775d2554d_metro-star-magic-30-ronnie alonte.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Ronnie Alonte - Metro x Star Magic 30"/></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>The actor gets the kind of family-like support from Star Magic, especially during times when he feels he’s taking on a project that’s extra challenging and needs a confidence boost. </p><div><br/></div><p>He talks about the most challenging role he has take on so far: “<em>Seklusyon noong</em> 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival <em>kay Direk</em> Erik Matti, <em>kasi s’yempre </em>first time <em>kong umarte tapos</em> Erik Matti <em>’yung</em> director <em>ko</em>, so <em>sobra akong kinabahan</em>. <em>Tapos</em> from dancer, <em>tatawid sa pag</em>-acting, <em>kasi nag</em>-start <em>ako sa</em> Hashtags, so <em>ang hirap</em>! <em>’Yun ’yung pinakamahirap sa lahat</em>,” Ronnie recounts.“Actually, <em>lahat naman ng naging</em> projects <em>ko hanggang ngayon</em>, <em>talagang mahirap para sa akin, pero ’yun ’yung pinaka-talagang</em> [challenging],” he candidly shares.</p><div><br/></div><p>Being managed by Star Magic and being in the business of acting bring joy and purpose to Ronnie’s life. For him, he finds meaning in his work as an actor and it is a craft that even makes him wiser in life.“[<em>Gusto ko ’yung sa trabaho</em>], <em>may panibagong pamilya</em>.
