Rihanna Shines as the New Face of Dior J'adore

We're enthralled by the combination of a classic perfume and the superstar's contemporary beauty

Grand opulence—two words to describe Dior Beauty’s latest campaign. The Versailles Hall of Mirrors became a masquerade of gold mixed with modern styling, amplified by the transcendental beauty mogul and singer, Rihanna. With an iconic perfume reimagined, the fashion house elevates the user's sensual experience into a contemporary yet luxurious scent, creating a fusion between the diamond star and golden bottle—a utopia where both icons collide.

We all adore how Rihanna redefines beauty. Her efforts to blend it with innovation always emphasize versatility and inclusiveness. Following the success of her own brand, she now takes over as the face of the legendary perfume that has stood out for a decade, with a name established through its signature, flourishing scent intertwined with each woman’s sweet memories.

J’Adore L’Or was that perfume of the generation. If the 'IT Girl' title exists in the world of fragrances, this is likely one of the bottles that holds the crown. First introduced in 1999, J’Adore was created by renowned perfumer Calice Becker, known for his work on Calvin Klein’s ‘Secret Obsession’ and Tommy Hilfiger’s ‘Tommy Girl’. At the time, it was a bold launch for the French fashion house. Its creation ignites Dior's passion for innovation, featuring classic accords without a heavy feel. The main purpose was to capture the experience of what gold truly smells like when worn.

This time, Dior immersed itself with the contemporary blend for the fragrance. As the world continues to evolve, as femininity does, the fashion house depicts how women’s taste with scents now differs from how it was defined back then. Rihanna’s appointment as the new muse aims to broaden the mixture of the quintessential smell with a touch of modernity, ‘An icon meets a legendary fragrance,’ Dior highlighted.

The campaign was shot by a long-time friend, Steven Klein, with the slogan 'Your Dreams, Make Them Real.' Steven transforms the singer into an unclassifiable queen, incarnating the fragrance’s symbolism of femininity and elegance. Francis Kurkdjian, Director of Dior Fragrance Creation, prominently features the beauty of J’Adore's flowers, capturing the true essence of the perfume with a harmonious blend of notes: orange blossom, jasmine grandiflorum, and centifolia rose absolutes. “I have in a way, forced the outline of the flowers to define a new texture, like a fluid and enveloping gold, a new sensuality. Flowers are the true gold of J’adore,” he explains

Aside from the timeless teardrop bottle, J’adore is a collection consisting of J’adore Adorables, and Bathing essentials. It explicitly strikes the artful balance of freshness of sensuality for every woman. Dior’s exceptional choice for the popstar made her the goddess of breaking boundaries, perpetually embodying the golden piece as if it was destined for her.
