Editor Diaries: I Tried the Aivee Emface—Here's What Happened!
Aivee Emface is the first and only skin tightening procedure that simultaneously treats facial skin and muscles in a 20-minute session, with no recovery or downtime required!
The A Institute was buzzing on a sunny Tuesday afternoon, as the doctors were in. Dra. Aivee Teo and her husband Dr. Z Teo were both present in the clinic to attend to countless clients awaiting their personalized touch. I on the other hand was scheduled to try their newest skin lifting and tightening treatment, the Aivee Emface! I entered their posh lobby, which to my surprise now had an in-house sorbetes cart (perfect for the unbearable heat outside), and their very own live harp player that created the most uplifting atmosphere. After all, people go to Aivee Clinic to give themselves an upgrade, and this welcome was just fitting.
What is Emface?
Before we get into my own experience, you must be wondering what Emface is exactly for. Simply put, it's a facial skin lifting and facial muscle tightening procedure that's done minus the needles or invasive surgery. Yet another amazing innovation in the cosmetic world, Emface boasts of being the first and only skin tightening procedure that simultaneously treats facial skin and muscles in a 20-minute session, with no recovery or downtime required.
It is a non-invasive treatment that uses a combination of electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) and radiofrequency (RF) technology to tone and tighten the skin, while also stimulating the underlying muscles. This unique treatment targets the major muscle groups of the face, including the brow, cheek, jawline, and neck, to create a more youthful and lifted appearance.
How does it work?
During the treatment, small adhesive pads are placed on the face, which deliver low-level electrical currents to the muscles. This causes the muscles to contract and relax, mimicking the natural movements of the facial muscles. At the same time, RF energy is used to heat the deeper layers of the skin, which stimulates collagen production and promotes skin tightening. The combination of EMS and RF technology creates a powerful synergistic effect that not only improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but also firms and tones the underlying muscles. The result is a more youthful and lifted appearance, without the need for injections, surgery, or downtime.
Benefits of this treatment include smoother skin, increase in collagen and elastin fibers, increase in density and quality of the muscle structure, and lifting and tightening of facial muscles.
As for my experience, I think it's always safe to say my Aivee Clinic experiences are always top notch. As I mentioned earlier, arriving at the clinic immediately transported me to an uplifting atmosphere, making me more than ready to receive my scheduled Emface. I was brought into a spacious treatment room where I lay down on a bed and the aesthetician prepped my skin by doing a facial first.
Unfortunately I came in with some zits here and there (no thanks to my period), so the aesthetician suggested I get the Aivee Aerolase Neo Skin treatment which uses the state-of-the-art 650 Microsecond laser that safely penetrates the skin to correct problems with acne, skin tone, and texture, redness and pigmentation with no injections and pricking involved. The whole treatment was pain-free for me, although I've had experience with lasers before.
The Emface treatment starts off with three small adhesive pads being stuck on my face—on my forehead, and on both cheeks. I was told that these adhesive pads are for one-time use only, meaning they are disposable, ensuring that each session you get guarantees a brand new set. The current levels range from 10 to 100, and I was asked by my aesthetician how my tolerance was. We started off at 10 just to get a feel of it, and I ended the session at level 40. She says some clients can take up to 100!
The low-level currents caused movements that resemble someone pulling your hair, but in regular motions, making it quite relaxing as the session progresses. At some point I could no longer control the facial expressions I was making so I decided to close my eyes all throughout and let the machine do its magic.
Sooner than later, the session was done, and I was ready to go. There was no redness, no irritation, or anything out of the ordinary afterwards, only that I was quite famished and was ready to enjoy a heavy merienda at the famed Aivee Cafe. I was treated to a round of Dr. Z's Singaporean dishes—Singaporean Chicken Curry, Hainanese Chicken, Nori Cheese Sticks, and of course, their signature Holy Kale drink!
Upon the aesthetician's advice, Emface should be done for about four sessions to see big results. I on the other hand noticed smoother, brighter skin just after a few days, and my cheeks do seem tighter, which I noticed as I was doing my makeup after a week. The number of sessions will depend on your skin's individual needs, so it's best to talk to your dermatologist about your personalized program.
Aivee Emface is a revolutionary new procedure that offers a safe, convenient, and effective way to rejuvenate the skin and muscles of the face. If you're looking for a non-invasive solution that can help you look and feel your best, Emface may be the perfect choice.
