<p>Cinema and fashion have long been intertwined. But at the <strong>Academy Museum Gala</strong> last October 19, Hollywood was at its most fashionable. A celebration of the endurance of cinema and the remarkable talents that have made it so, the gala is a fundraising event held annually in support of initiatives for the preservation of film. Like the Met Gala of the movie world, the Academy Museum Gala fell under the spotlight of fashion enthusiasts who turned the red carpet into a game of “best-dressed”. Graced by a slew of A-listers and rising Hollywood figures, guests flocked to the West Coast to honor several remarkable talents in the industry including Paul Mescal (Vantage Award), Rita Moreno (Icon Award), and Quentin Tarantino (Luminary Award). </p><div><br/></div><p>Though a celebration of cinema at heart, the red carpet was quite the remarkable spectacle of the night with some looks swiftly rising to the top of the audience’s favorites list. <strong>Kaia Gerber</strong> stunned à la Audrey Hepburn in <em>My Fair Lady</em>, wearing a 1997 piece created by Alexander McQueen for Givenchy Haute Couture. In the same vein of vintage dressing, <strong>Ariana Grande</strong> wore a custom Balmain piece that paid homage to the designer’s polka-dotted Bougival gown from 1963.
