That in the midst of the noise and haste, of camera clicks and stiletto clacks, a unified love for the glitz and glamour prevails. In a collection dedicated to the most beautiful women he knows, women empowerment and female strength take center stage.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Carolina Herrera - In a mix of flounce and structure, Gordon offers a retrospective runway of the modern woman in a journey from the eighties-past to the twenties-present. Structured, wide-shoulder blazers, and billowy, larger-than-life puff sleeves strut down the runway to dramatize the resilience and freedom of the contemporary signora. </p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>LaQuan Smith - The look of the office siren is truly the song making waves this season. At LaQuan Smith, the label’s signature of dressing for a night out undertakes day shifts as it embraces the popular trend of corporate meets cocktail. With the backdrop of New York premiering his venture into more mature concepts, the dance of skin-tight silhouettes and structured pieces finds its home at LaQuan Smith AW24.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>LaQuan Smith - With deep hues of burgundy and umber seeping into the fashion house’s collection, the image of a female executive on Wall Street taking a night off at Studio 54 is clear. With trench coats over bikini-cut undergarments, sheer button downs and backless suits, there co-exists sensuality in seriousness, and in Smith’s business there is pleasure.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Christian Siriano - To use fashion as a tool to make sense of the social reality around us is a feat in itself, but the skill to envisage a post-apocalyptic realm is otherworldly in its own right. Christian Siriano however undertakes this challenge as a means to display the richness in the barren, the groundedness of science fiction.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Christian Siriano - To use fashion as a tool to make sense of the social reality around us is a feat in itself, but the skill to envisage a post-apocalyptic realm is otherworldly in its own right. Christian Siriano however undertakes this challenge as a means to display the richness in the barren, the groundedness of science fiction.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Michael Kors - To decelerate in a rather fast-paced industry is a gift; one that Michael Kors decidedly shares to showgoers at his AW24 runway. Reminiscing on the idea of perpetuity that once came with fashion, he begins his retrospective with the 1930s; reimagining the ideas of timeless classics through a modern and relevant lens.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Michael Kors - Doubling down on eternity apropos style, the collection is a mixture of wool blazers, lace slip dresses and layered knitwear; the perfect elements to create a capsule wardrobe for the ages. Kors is a novel reminder of the memories that are carried in clothing—memories unafraid by the passage of time, rather emboldened by its ebb and flow.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Helmut Lang - In Peter Do’s sophomore collection as Helmut Lang’s creative director, he finds his footing helming the concept of protection versus projection. It’s a story relevant to many, in the flight-or-fight argument of fashion as expression or as armor. To be anchored in post factum reality is to be filled with nostalgia, an experience the designer pays homage to in the most preppy, Hilfiger-trademark manner possible.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Tommy Hilfiger - In shades of red, white and blue, the spirit of collegiate youthfulness and polished maturity is boiled down into a collection of the quintessential Tommy look. A tribute to the New York lifestyle, ensembles of pleated skirts and collared shirts manage to capture the grounded spirit of downtown in  outfits on their way uptown.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Coach - What is love, if not inspiration to create? Despite living in the city for just about a decade, Stuart Vevers still manages to find love for The Big Apple in the nooks and crannies of its cynicism. An ode to the multifacetedness of the city, Vevers blows up the tchotchkes that make New York, New York.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Coach - In chunky knits and tuxedo blazers perfect for trudging any corner of the Five Boroughs, Coach celebrates the honesty and truth about the city lifestyle. That no matter how long it has been, or no matter how long it will be, New York is still home—tourist traps and all.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Tory Burch - A toast to texture and silhouettes that are unafraid of volume is what Tory Burch brings to the table at NYFW.  In toying with the idea of making the mundane of everyday routine exciting and sublime, the eponymous label’s AW24 collection became a hallmark for the beginning of an artistic language renaissance.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Tory Burch - Gone are the conservative, prim and proper silhouettes of Tory Burch as the era of experimentation—from lamp shades, to old jackets, to shower caps—has arrived. A sensory euphoria of fringe dresses, leather combination sets, the new Tory woman is one unafraid to contrast with herself because she knows she portrays elegance either way.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Brandon Maxwell - To grow with your brand is a privilege not offered to many, and yet Brandon Maxwell’s creative ethos renaissance is a story of maturity and realism. In an effort to capture a feeling rather than material inspiration, Maxwell looks to the capability of clothing to uplift and turn a bad day on its head.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Brandon Maxwell - In staging for such a large audience, Maxwell’s autobiographical intimacy is well documented in a series of ensembles that feature expert draping that slots right in the middle of fitting and oversized—a peaceful balance between what he parallels to the good and bad of life. Motivating runway goers to be proactive in figuring out what they like and don’t, the tender resonance of Maxwell’s collection advances his legacy tenfold.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Thom Browne - It is often heard that we must save the best for last, and in closing out fashion month’s kick-off, Thom Browne does not disappoint in the slightest. After his stint of personifying The Little Prince through sartorial imagery, Browne matures his inspiration at the Shed in Hudson Yards, in a retelling of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” by elevating the standards of what couture tailoring could be. Not only is Browne’s Tell-Tale Heart between the floorboards, but so it is on the stage as well.</p></div><div class="item-desc"><p>Thom Browne - In a masterclass of experimental theatrics to accompany the surge of power and saturation of emotion that comes with such a nuanced piece of art, Thom Browne cements himself as a master in his craft in dramatizing the classic suit to outgrow the shell of what it used to be.
