<p>It was a night of art, fashion, and culture! <strong>Bench</strong>, together with <strong>SM Supermalls</strong> and the <strong>Cultural Center of the Philippines</strong>, brought forth a fresh narrative to Filipino cultural celebrations. </p><div><br/></div><p><strong>Ternocon</strong> 2024 celebrated <strong>Philippine Independence Day </strong>with the theme: Kasarinlan, Kultura, at Kasuotan featuring designers Jojie Lloren, Cary Santiago, and Jaggy Glarino representing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.</p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img loading="lazy" src="https://assets-metrostyle.abs-cbn.com/prod/metrostyle/attachments/4a275608-43d6-4482-a21b-72036f57386c_5 (1).jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt=""/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Ben Chan and the First Lady Liza Marcos at Ternocon 2024</span></span></span></div><p><strong>Jaggy Glarino</strong> opened the show with “<strong>Lemlunay</strong>”, a collection that drew inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Mindanao. His avant-garde and non-conformist approach to design were showcased in his nine ternos and three barongs. We were deeply enamored by his gilded and beaded looks.</p><div><br/></div><p><strong>Jojie Lloren</strong> was the second person to present his collection. His twelve exquisite ternos tell the story of his connection to his mother and the motherland. Entitled “<strong>A Lullaby For My Mother</strong>”, Jojie made a promise to preserve and elevate Filipino culture through his ornate garbs. </p><div><br/></div><p><strong>Cary Santiago</strong> closed the show with a vivid celebration of Filipino pride through the colors of the Philippine flag and iconic national symbols. “<strong>Ikonograpiya</strong>” is composed of Cary’s signature intricate and sculptural designs.
