Where To Go For Fantastic Japanese Comfort Food
Try the Karai Beef Ramen, Truffle Gyozas and the ultimate rice bowl -- Miso Salmon Belly Donburi!
There’s a lot to love about the weekend, and dining in a new Japanese restaurant that serves all your comfort food favorites is a great way to start.
Ohachi is the newest Japanese concept from The Relish Group, the team behind Kumori, Wee Nam Kee, Birdhouse, and The Corner Market Food Hall. From their years of experience in the food industry, Ohachi is their latest venture in the restaurant scene, where they aim to serve your favorite Japanese comfort food, with a twist.
Ohachi means “Japanese Rice Bowl” – traditionally, it’s where Japanese dishes are served and the name is fitting for a restaurant that aims to offer your favorite Japanese dishes.
Ohachi’s signature offering is their ramen, developed by their in-house chef, who has had two decades of experience in helming a variety of Japanese restaurants. Following the traditional method of preparation, pork bones are simmered for hours to bring out all the flavor into the broth, ensuring an authentic ramen experience in every sip. They offer three flavors: Tonkotsu, Chashu, and Karai Beef Ramen. If you’re looking for something with the perfect balance of savory and spicy, we suggest that you try the Karai Beef Ramen. And to celebrate the restaurant’s opening, both the Tonkotsu and Chashu Ramen will be offered on a buy one, get one promotion, for a limited time only.
Perfectly paired with ramen is the gyoza, which they offer original or with a twist in the form of Truffle Gyoza. If you’re also in the mood for something crispy and juicy, the Soy Garlic Karaage is a great choice and it’s a sure hit for both kids and adults alike! Think of it as a Japanese version of your favorite Korean Fried Chicken.
Ohachi also has their own take on everyone’s favorite sushi, with the Special California Maki as the centerpiece. The beautiful mango slices on top, drizzled with Japanese mayo and sprinkled with tobiko, are already enough to make you want to order this instant bestseller. Also available are other notable twists to the usual sushi fare, which include the Okonomiyaki Sushi, the Mango Chicken Teriyaki, and the Salmon Cheese Aburi Rolls, to name a few.
And for a restaurant that’s named after the Japanese rice bowl, you will also find an appetizing selection of donburi options. Most notable of these is the Miso Salmon Belly Donburi, which combines premium Salmon with a flavorful miso glaze. The fish is fresh and flavorful, while the sauce will make you want to wipe your bowl clean of rice. Delicious!
Ohachi is located at the 3/F of the Mega Fashion Hall, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram via @Ohachi.PH. For those dining at home, direct orders can be made through https://relish- group.com.
